Preeya Kalidas (Eastenders Amira Shah)

Preeya Kalidas (born 1980) is a singer and actress. She is known for her roles in the film East is East and Bend It Like Beckham known, and has now joined the cast of EastEnders to play Amira Shah. Born in Isleworth, she was raised in Twickenham, south-west London. The daughter of a father, an independent financial adviser and mother, who worked for British Airways, began dance lessons at the age of three, five and touch.
