1 Peter 1:15-16: "But as he who called you is holy, so be ye holy in all your conduct,
it is written: "Be holy because I am holy.''"
Because the Spirit of the living God dwells, and when we are born again, God the Father expects certain things from us. He expects that we keep his commandments and his paths.
Deuteronomy. 12:24: "Obey all these words which I command you, that may go well with you and your children afteralways, if you do what is good and right in the eyes of the Lord your God "
This verse tells us that things are going well with us and our children that we should walk in a divine way. The decisions you make today is not unique to you, but your children. The lifestyle you choose to live your life and people around you note. It's not just you, whatever you may think. E 'on you and those around you, at home, at work and play. We as believers can not "go ourmerry way "to do what we want, how we act and take decisions on the basis of defining the world of what is good or bad.
Our opening scripture in 1 Peter 1:15-16 tells us to be holy as God is holy. This means that we think and act a certain way. The word holy means distinct, separate and added to live and model our lives after Christ's life, not those around us. We dedicate our lives to live as God's Word tells us, not the world around us. We have to thinkand act in a certain way. The way God thinks and acts!
Romans 6:6: ". Knowing this, that our old man crucified with him, that the body of sin might be abolished, we no longer slaves to sin"
One translation says that we are no longer slaves to sin! Did you know that before being born again, sin is served, he met and lived in sin sin.
Praise God, Jesus redeemed us from the sinful life on the Cross. We should no longer be slaves of sin,we chose to walk in newness of life!
Romans 6:04 "Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."
2 Corinthians 5:17: "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature.: Old things are passed away, behold all things are become new"
Nothing new in Christ, all the old things have passed away, we walk in newness oflife. "Ok, then how do we do this?" And 'that's what you think if you read this? Please, please, I wonder how I can live a life of holiness which pleases God?
Many writers of the New Testament tell us how to achieve this. But first I want to look at what Jesus says about the life we live.
John 14:13: ". And whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son"
Matthew 15:31: "So the crowd marveled assaw the mute speaking, the fact all the crippled, the lame walking and the blind see, and they glorified the God of Israel. "
Luke 4:15: "And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all."
This Scripture gives us some references to the life of Jesus'. In John 14:13 Jesus tells us that what we pray and ask to be done. Why? That the Father may be glorified! Everything we do, say or think to glorify God!
In the last two verses we see thatwhat Jesus did, the people saw and praised God If it was the mute speaking, the lame walk, or just teaching in their synagogues, whatever it was, people have recognized for what it was. A lifestyle that glorifies God, giving glory to God! He realized at that moment, that what Jesus has done directly by God and worshiped him.
So how can we live a lifestyle that glorifies God?
1 Corinthians 6:17-20: "But he who unites himself to the Lord aspirit.
Flee from sexual immorality. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do not you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who dwells in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For you bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and your spirit, which is of God. " "
We are to flee or run away from sexual immorality. This is a strong statement. Our bodiesThe Temple of the Living God, he lives in us through the Holy Spirit. When the adulterous relationship, living with someone outside of marriage or casual sex with someone who grieve the Holy Spirit who dwells in you. In other words, you're breaking my heart to God! We are to glorify God in our body is not contaminated with sinful acts. If we poison our bodies with drugs or alcohol, we are dirtying the temple of the living God. We are breaking God's heart! The same applies tosmoking cigarettes, marijuana or eating unhealthy foods all the time. We are responsible for the conditions of the Holy Temple of God, our bodies. Have you ever thought about this? Now I pray that you do.
1 Corinthians 10:14: "Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry."
This is another powerful statement. What is idolatry. It 's something to put on your relationship with God and His Son, Jesus'. It takes many forms, be involved in other religions such as Hinduism,or Buddhism. Involved with the occult.
(This can be as simple as watching a television program that promotes the occult as "Charmed," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and others. These shows seem like harmless fun, but they are not, which continually feed your mind evil things!)
It may be the cause of your job, your relationship with your spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend before your relationship with God the Father. You can opt for a lie-in on Sunday morning, instead ofthen go to church. You can opt for a concert with friends instead of going to church on Wednesday and spend time reading the Word.
I urge you to look at your life, what are your idols? Their identification, and ask God to forgive idolatry and begin to put God first in your life.
1:18-19,2:1-3 1 Timothy: "I entrust to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies about you before, that can trigger a good war, with faithand good conscience, which some have refused, on the faith have made shipwreck ... Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving for all men, for kings and all those in authority, that we spend a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, "
A life of holiness will also perform the war. We are at war with the UnitedGod through prayer, intercession powerful! Do you realize that you pray for the leaders of this country? We must pray for our leaders, the president (regardless of who holds the seat), our mayor and alderman. Do you want to do this?
If you look at the verses above, God tells us why we do it. So we have a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. If we want our lives to be peaceful, prosperous and secure, we mustto pray for our leaders, for them to pray for godly men who gave their lives to the Lord. The men who listened to the voice of God, who listen and obey that voice! What will be surrounded by men of God to encourage them to act on that advice and that of God. This is true not only for our current president, but also the member of Congress who represents you! And for our local officials and government officials.
As a believer you need to realize that God the Father, the Kingof kings and Lord of Lord, this powerful and prosperous country and a born-again believers, we must choose God and His ways and walk in them! This is true in personal life, how you behave at work or whatever you choose to do in your spare time. The nation of Israel was brought into captivity for their disobedience. The United States of America parallels the nation of Israel, that we are the only nation in history that has been fixed at the Divinebeliefs and principles. If we continue with these beliefs and principles that will benefit from the evil actions we have sown to the left. If you are a believer, then you should not worry about the economy. God is not your source, your job, not the government.
Deuteronomy. 08:18: "And you remember the Lord your God, for He is the force that gives you the ability to obtain, so that his covenant which he swore to your fathers to establish, because it is these days."
2Timothey 3:1-5: "But know this, thatin the last days perilous times
For men will be lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasures rather than God, a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! "
I ask you today, who spend your time? Would you like to spend timewith lovers of themselves, lovers, people without self-control, unholy? Or spend time with pious people, who strive to glorify God in everything they do?
I urge you to present a good hard look at the choices in your life to take. They glorify God, make people see God in your life? If not, re-evaluating your life, and from this day - "choose to be holy as God is holy!" Pray this short prayer:
God the Father, I ask you to forgive me of idolatry.Forgive me for not putting You first in my life. Lord, I pray for this nation, to get away from you forgive us, forgive us for our laws and wicked actions. Father, I dedicate my life to live for you that my life glorify you in everything I do and say. Help me to walk in newness of life,
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
If you really want to make sure that you are a child of God, I sincerely invite you to pray this prayer.
Heavenly Father, I comein Jesus' name Your Word says, "... and whoever comes to me, I will not cast out." (Jn 6, 37);
So I know you pulled me out, but I take it, and I thank you. You said in your Word, "who shout the name of the Lord shall be saved.''(Romans 10:13).
Invite your name, so I know it saved me now, You also said: "... if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from thethe dead will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation "(Ro.10: 9.10) ..
I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God I believe He rose from the dead for my justification. And I admit it now as my Lord, for Your word says, "... with the heart man believeth unto righteousness ..." I believe with my heart, now I have the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5.21)
And I'M saved! Thank you, Lord!
I can honestly say that I see myself as a born again child of God! Glory to God! Amen.
