Long John Baldry Band, Kathi McDonald

April 1993, the Club Fabrik, Hamburg, Germany, a live audio NDR, John Lee Sanders synchronized with personal video recordings of the tour, shot from the stage, playing the keys with one hand and shooting with the other band. This concert was released from Stony Plain as "Onstage Tonight" one of the most popular CD Baldry's. The band was not informed until the day of action that there was a live broadcast, so we have our usual great live set. This is Pope John King on guitarsoloist. Eric Webster, Butch Coulter Hammond organ, harp and acoustic guitar Al Webster, Tom Knowles, drums, bass and John Lee on keyboards, sax and vocals, I'm not one of the photos because they are shooting. Long John is unfortunately no longer with us. He died of a chest infection in July 2005 and this tour was the happiest moment tour with him. This was my first time in Europe as a traveling musician, the best audience in the world. I grew up in Louisiana and the Mississippi Delta, and foundmore acceptance and respect for our music in the places where this music was born. This was the band's first tour in Europe, we had just played East and West Berlin, where the wall came down it was just a few years before, and there was still a lot of enthusiasm. This club where we played was close to the red light district of Hamburg where the Beatles first became famous Star Club, where we played a year later.
