SophieCalle (born 1953) is a French writer, photographer, installation artist and conceptual artist. Calle's work is characterized by arbitrary set of constraints, and calls on the French literary movement in 1960 known as Oulipo. His work often shows the human vulnerability, and examines the identity and intimacy. She is known for his detective-like ability to follow strangers and investigate their private lives. Her photographic work often includes panels of text of itswriting. Calle began working as an artist in 1970, after a trip around the world for seven years. When he returned to Paris, the city where she was born, she remembers the feeling of isolation and lost, this isolation has inspired the lives of people around her to investigate.
